Sunday Morning League

Our Sunday Morning League features games at 9, 10, 11, and 12 (as needed), with 8 regular season games plus playoffs. All teams qualify for the postseason, splitting into upper and lower brackets to keep competition strong across the board.

We operate using a dynasty draft format—players are drafted to teams each year and stay on that roster unless traded—creating continuity, competitive balance, and lasting rivalries.

Ages

Our league is for adults with an of 16 years (with parental permission) or older.

When

We run three seasons a year:

Spring, Summer, and Fall. We strive to end just before Thanksgiving.

Where

Games are held at the rink at Scott Twp. Park.

Jerseys

As part of the cost, we include a t-shirt for the year. If you get traded, we get you a new shirt!

Games

Games are played on Sunday mornings. Gametimes are usually 9am, 10am, 11am, or 12pm, though sometimes we vary times for playoffs or double headers.

Extra Costs

No extra costs! Shirts and ref fees are all part of the registration fee. We try to make things as easy as possible.

What gear do I need to play?

Over 18 - Stick and gloves. We recommend shin guards but they are your shins, if you want to risk it that's your choice.

Under 18 - Helmet with cage or full bubble, gloves, stick, and shin guards.

Who can join the league?

Anyone. Seriously. As long as they are at least 16 years old (with parental permission) or older. We’ve had Team USA players and we’ve had people who’ve never picked up a stick before. If you want to play, you’ve got a spot here.

How are teams formed?

We run a dynasty draft format. At the start of each year, players are drafted onto teams and stay with that roster for the year unless a trade is made. It keeps things competitive, balanced, and builds real team identity (and rivalries).

When are games played?

Games are on Sunday mornings—typically at 9:00, 10:00, 11:00, and sometimes 12:00 depending on the number of teams.

How long is a season?

Each season includes 8 regular season games plus playoffs. We run three seasons per year, so there’s always another chance to jump in.

Do all teams make the playoffs?

Yes. Every team qualifies for the playoffs. Teams are split into upper and lower brackets, so everyone is competing against similar-level teams and has something to play for.

Is the league competitive?

Yes—but it’s the right kind of competitive. We work hard to keep teams balanced so games stay close and fun. However, we do allow our GM's at least SOME freedom when drafting their teams. You’ll get good hockey without it being over-the-top or exclusionary.

I’ve never played dek hockey before—will I be out of place?

Not at all. New players join every season. The draft and team structure help make sure you’re placed in a situation where you can learn, contribute, and enjoy it.

Can I join with friends?

You can sign up with friends, but teams are ultimately decided through the draft to maintain balance. That said, we always try to be reasonable where we can and allow "package deals".

Are there trades?

Yes. Trades are part of the dynasty system and help keep things competitive and interesting throughout the year.
